The Joshua Hotel are an alternative pop act from Scotland, fronted by songwriter/producer Joshua Mackenzie with Louis Slorach on Guitar and Joshua Gilbert on Drums. In late 2023 they released the 4 track EP Oblivion Days: an eclectic mix of songs covering existentialism, sexuality and nihilistic escape, with a sonic backdrop inspired by Late 70s era Bowie and electrotonic acts Depeche Mode, Daft Punk and MGMT. The EP raised the bands profile, with the title track being picked as ‘Single of the week’ on BBC Radio Scotland and was championed by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, Gary Crowley on BBC London, John Kennedy on Radio X, Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio and 6 Music’s New Music Fix Show. BBC Scotland’s Vic Galloway picked The Joshua Hotel as one of his 25 artists to watch in 2024.

In spring 2024 The Joshua Hotel appeared at Scotland’s leading music industry showcase, Wide Days. They were also picked as 1 of only 4 acts to take part in the Wide Day’s Talent Development programme. Throughout 2024 they appeared at several festivals across the UK, with a triumphant late-afternoon mainstage appearance at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival being the pick of the bunch. The band recently completed their debut album ‘Rapture Party’, due for release September 2025 on the Last night from Glasgow label.
